DAE:Dental Aerosol Evacuator

Our dental aerosol evacuator (DAE) is designed to be utilized as an adjunct to the HVE in operative dental procedures.  Under normal circumstances, the operatory HVE eliminates the vast majority of the aluminum oxide utilized in a conventional air abrasion procedure.  Our tests show that approximately 90% of the aluminum oxide is eliminated by this system.  The remaining 10% is the portion that will be swept away by our DAE.

Our Crystal Air utilizes an average of between 1.5 to 2.0 grams per operative procedure.  Calculations based on the percentages stated above generate an approximate amount of powder that is swept away by the DAE between .15 and .2 gram per procedure; this is a very small quantity of powder !

The DAE can also be used in traditional highspeed procedures to remove the aerosol created by the cooling air and water mist.  It forms one more part of the in-operatory contaminant removal system.  It reduces the treatment team's as well as the patient's exposure to septic aerosol.

Our DAE is armed with three barrier filters.  A large powder filter eliminates the large powder particles while a downstream mounted HEPA filter eliminates particles as small as .3micron.  There is a deactivated charcoal filter to eliminate unwanted odors from the air as well.
