Aerosol Evacuator

Description

The Aerosol Evacuator was originally developed to evacuate aerosol generated by rotary handpieces and air abrasion procedures in dental facilities.  However, with custom designed high flow triple filtration, the evacuator has also been found to be ideal for removing and filtering odor and fumes associated with laser or electrosurgical devices, for particulate and vapor generated during mercury-silver amalgam replacement.

The Aerosol Evacuator is quiet, yet powerful enough to recycle and purify the air in an 8′ x 10′ treatment room in less than 5 minutes. In the three filter configuration the contaminated air or fumes are first forced through an antibacterial microbial filter, then a HEPA mini pleat filter that captures 99.97% of all particles .3 microns or larger.  Finally, a specially treated charcoal filter removes odor and when applicable, mercury particulate.

Fumes, aerosol, debris, and contamination are vacuumed through a 3 inch diameter, 5 foot long, self-supporting hose (elephant trunk), that allows placement of the flared opening in close proximity to the operating field (patient).  The trunk is encased in a polyethylene sleeve for easy wipe down, while a stretchable polyester/cotton blend sleeve slips over the outside and down into the inside of the flared opening.

The AE can double as a cart because the top surface has room to place an air abrasion, laser or electrosurgical device and casters insure easy movement to multiple treatment rooms.
